The Process
From Sacred Offering to Second Life
Four simple steps connect your doorstep to a cleaner river, a healthier earth, and the hands of artisans who transform devotion into craft.
How Visharjan Works
A Closed Loop, Rooted in Reverence
Most puja waste ends up in rivers, landfills, or on roadsides — not because people don't care, but because there's no better option. Visharjan is that option. We've built a simple, dignified system that collects what you offer, processes it responsibly, and returns it to the world as something useful.

We Sort It at Our Facility
Every material has a different destiny.
Back at our processing centre, waste is carefully sorted by type: fresh flowers go to composting or dye extraction; dried flowers and herbs to incense production; clay and cow dung to pottery and diyas; fabric to our artisan upcycling unit. Nothing is mixed, nothing is wasted.
- Flowers → compost, dye, incense
- Clay & cow dung → diyas, pottery
- Fabric → upcycled artisan products
- Zero landfill policy
Recycle & Repurpose
Devotion Becomes Craft
The sacred cycle, unbroken.
Sorted materials are handed to our network of local artisans and our in-house production unit. Flowers become agarbatti and gulal. Clay becomes diyas and idols. Fabric becomes pouches and paper. The finished products are sold through our shop — and the proceeds fund the next collection.
- Agarbatti, dhup, gulal from flowers
- Diyas and pottery from clay
- Compost returned to farmers
- 500+ artisan livelihoods supported
